There are many ways to get involved at Lifeway. Just contact a staff member to become part of any ministry.
Kitchen Ministry
LFC's kitchen ministry is designed to organize and prepare food for church fellowships.
What does the kitchen ministry do exactly?
The kitchen ministry sets up and decorates tables, prepares food, serves food and washes dishes for church fellowships. Team members may also purchase groceries for some events.
How often does the kitchen ministry function?
There are only two to three large church-wide meals a year. There are also about six other smaller fellowships throughout the year on Sunday nights. There are special occasions like revivals that the kitchen ministry may be called up for a meal.
Is there more than one committee within within the kitchen ministry?
Yes. Because our church has grown so much in the last several years, we now have three committees within the kitchen ministry. The committees are:
Fellowship
Works on the smaller fellowships of the church; usually works on Sunday nights.
Sunday School Fellowships
Works on the Sunday School Fellowships within the church; works closely with Sunday School teachers and Fellowship directors.
Youth
Works with student ministry events of the church; works closely with the youth minister; usually more active on weekends.
Why is fellowship important?
At LFC, we believe that it is important for our church body to meet together, to encourage one another and to love one another. It is during times of fellowship that close bonds are created. Our church must be unified in all we do, and fellowship is one way that we accomplish this. And we like to eat together, too.
Lawn Care Ministry
LFC's lawn care ministry is designed to care for the church lawn.
What does the lawn care team do exactly?
The lawn care team mows, edges, weed eats and fertilizes the lawns of both the new and old buildings. This team also maintains our other landscaping on site like flowerbeds and trees.
How often does the lawn care team meet?
The lawn has to be done every week when the weather is nice. If our team has enough members, you will only need to work on a rotating basis. Generally, members work every other week. This could change as we have more members sign up for this team.
When does the team meet?
The team leader will make arrangements with the team members as to when people can work. Generlaly, the team meets on Thursday evenings.
How much time are we talking about?
It only takes about an hour, at the most an hour and a half, to finish mowing and edging both lawns.
Does the church provide the equipment?
Yes. The church will provide all of the equipment needed. We have a weedeater, an edgeer, three to four lawnmowers, and a riding lawnmower used for the old building. All gas and other supplies will also be provided by the church.
Why is the lawn care ministry important?
The church represents God to both Christians and non-Christians. We must take care of our building as it is the Lord's house. Our building must make a good impression to visitors and others in our area. How our building is maintained says how we feel about our church.
Hospital Visitation Ministry
LFC's hospital visitation ministry is designed to visit and pray with those who are in the hospital.
How does the hospital visitation ministry work?
Once the team leader or church finds out about a patient, our team leader will send a team member to visit at the hospital.
How do I notify the church about a patient?
Please call the church office, tell any of our church staff or call a team leader to tell us about a patient. We want to know about the needs of our members. If we don't know, we can't pray for you.
What will the team member do while at the hospital?
Our team members just want to take a minute to speak and pray with you. The visit will be brief unless the patient needs to talk or desires company.
Why is a visit from the church important?
Our church has a concern and love for its members. When one of our members is sick, our church would like to take time to pray for them. Research shows that prayers can and do heal people more quickly than those who receive no prayer.

"When people pray, great things happen."
James 5:16

How do I become involved in this ministry?
Anyone who has a desire to pray for those in the hospital and has transportation is invited to join this team. And if you know of someone in the hospital who needs a visit, pleae contact a church staff member or the ministry team leader.
Housekeeping Ministry
LFC's housekeeping ministry is designed to clean specific areas of the church building.
How does the housekeeping ministry work?
A team of volunteers comes to the church on a weekly basis to clean certain areas of the new santuary. Generally, this team cleans on Thursdsay mornings, but other times could be arranged with church staff and the team leader.
Why is this ministry important?
This is an important ministry because God tells us to be good stewards of what He has given us. We wants our church facilities to look nice not only for our members but also for our visitors. How our church looks represents our members.
I don't have a lot of time. Can I still help?
This team usually meets at the same time and they are finished within an hour and a half. Also, there are certain tasks that can be done within 15-20 minutes throughout the week on your own.
Don't we have a custodian who cleans the church?
Yes. LFC has a part-time custodian who works 20 hours a week. Because of the part-time status and the large area of both buildings, it is impossible for one person to clean the whole building entirely. This team was designed to help our custodian keep God's house in great shape.
I don't do windows. What else is there to do?
Yes, we clean windows, but we also do a lot of other things: clean the restrooms, clean the baptism area (when needed), straighten visitor cards and pens in the pockets of chairs in the sanctuary, and other tasks as we continue to grow.
Prayer Ministry
LFC's prayer ministry is designed to pray for the needs of others on a regular basis.
How does the prayer ministry work?
Anyone who would like prayer for themselves or another can fill out a prayer request form. These requets will be given to members of the team who will pray for those requests during the week. Members will also send a postcard to the person they are praying for.
Where do I find a prayer request form?
These forms can be found on the welcome table and in Sunday School classes. Also, any of our staff will be happy to help find one.
Why do we believe in the power of prayer?
We believe that God hears our prayers and that He is concerned for His people.

"When people pray, great things happen."
James 5:16

How do I become involved in this ministry?
Anyone who has a desire to pray for the needs of others is invited to join this team. And if you have any needs of your own, please fill our a prayer request form or contact a church staff member or the ministry team leader.
Creative Arts Ministry
LFC's creative arts ministry is designed to enhance the worship experience through artistic expression. (Click here to see the worship team's blog page.)
What does creative arts ministry consist of?
The creative arts ministry is comprised of several teams whose purpose is to honor and glorify God through the use of artistic gifts. These teams include the Praise Band, the Vocal Praise Team, the Audio/Visual Team and the Drama Team. We also create videos for presentation during some sermons. Artists who specialize in visual media, such as painting and drawing are also encouraged to use their gifts as a form of worship.
Why does this ministry exist?
God creates each one of us with specific talents and gifts that are unique to us. He desires intimate worship with each and every one of us, and some people find it easier to connect with God on a personal level by expressing their worship in a creative and artistic way. At LFC, we want to give everyone a setting in which they feel comfortable worshiping the Lord.
How do I become involved in this ministry?
To take part in the drama, video, or music teams, contact Josh, our worship leader and creative arts minister. If you would like to volunteer for the Audio/Visual team, contact the team leader posted on the bulletin board accross from the office. If you have original art that you feel is an expression of your love for God, and you would lke to share it with the church body, contact Josh. You can also speak with any of our other staff members to find out how you can get invovled in this ministry.
